HMS Malcolm D19

HMS Malcolm made eight trips to Dunkirk in total, including three in one 24-hour period in which she rescued 3,000 soldiers. The final trip was made on the night of the 3-4 June to embark part of the French rearguard which had been holding the Dunkirk perimeter. The officers, who had been preparing for a celebratory party prior to receiving orders for the mission, sailed wearing their bow ties and monkey jackets. HMS Malcolm had an active war, escorting 61 convoys, sinking one U-boat and badly damaging another. She was finally scrapped in 1945.
