The items displayed here are reputed to come from a Battle of Britain crash site of a Ju87 Stuka dive-bomber in Kent. The items consist of part of a Luftwaffe cap eagle, cap cockade and airframe components. No specific details of the actual crash site are disclosed. However, if the information provided is correct, then there is a strong probability that these items are connected with the loss of a Stuka from 10 / LG1 at Shorncliffe Crescent, Folkestone, at 5.30pm on the 15th August, 1940. This aircraft was on a bombing sortie over the Channel when it was hit by AA fire and RAF fighters from 501 Squadron. Flying at low level, the Stuka hit high tension cables causing the aircraft to crash into houses and burn out, killing both crew members (Pilot Uffz Hermann Weber and Gunner Uffz Franz Kraus)
