Junkers Ju87B
Nationality: German
Unit: 3/StG2
Serial number: N/K
Call sign: T6 + -L
Date of loss: 16/08/1940
This aircraft was part of a formation of Stukas ordered to bomb Tangmere aerodrome. It was shot down by fighters and crashed into the sea west of Selsey Bill, West Sussex, at around 1pm. There appears to be some confusion as to whether the pilot, Uffz P Bohn and the rear gunner, Ogefr J Bader survived. Some sources list them as 'missing', others state that they were picked up and captured by a Royal Navy launch. Our investigations continue and we will update the website when we have further information.
