British National Registration ID Card

This example was issued on 22nd May 1940, the week before Dunkirk. The ID card belonged to Ian Borrowdale, who was three years old at the time and lived in Gateshead. The card would have been held by his father, Harold Borrowdale. In later life, Ian Borrowdale became a Police Officer, but sadly died of a heart attack in 1992. This ID card was acquired from the family.
