Insignia of the Destroyer Orage.
Orage – A Bourrasque class destroyer of the French Navy. On the 23rd May 1940, she was off Boulogne, providing fire support to the British and French troops defending the town, when she was attacked by approximately 70 Ju87 Stuka dive bombers. Badly damaged and ablaze, she was eventually scuttled by her crew. The commanding officer, Lt Cdr RVM Viennot De Vaublanc, was wounded and 27 of his crew were lost.
