Royal Army Pay Corps

Uniform of an officer of the Royal Army Pay Corps (RAPC). Rear echelon troops and support functions such as the RAPC formed the bulk of those left in France after Dunkirk. The largely successful evacuations of these troops took place during Operations Cycle and Ariel. However, 24 members of the RAPC are known to have perished in the sinking of the Lancastria.
