German Box for Shoe Nails

Found in a cellar in the French town of Arras, the box appears to have never been opened at the time. Certainly German in origin, however, the label does imply a pre-war export. The lack of any military markings equally raises concerns as to its provenance. This said, it is equally plausible that it could have been brought along with the invader.

A great deal of civilian equipment was used by the military, on all sides, with the added issue that this box would be heavy and likely to be something abandoned in short order.
